Meet Dr. Irene Ahn

Dr. Irene

Hello! I’m Dr. Irene Ahn. I grew up in South Korea and moved to the United States when I was 19. I’ve always been interested in people: their experiences, the way each person thinks, and what helps us connect with one another. That curiosity inspired me to move to the U.S. and study psychology at the State University of New York at Albany.

After college, I took a different path and joined the U.S. Army. My time in the military taught me the importance of responsibility, teamwork, humility, and showing up for the people who depend on you. Those lessons have stayed with me and continue to influence the way I care for my patients today.

Eventually, I found my way to dentistry and earned my DDS degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. I’m grateful to have found a profession that brings together my genuine interest in people and my desire to care for others, while giving me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives. What I enjoy most about dentistry is building relationships with my patients, listening to them, and helping them feel comfortable and confident about their oral health and their smiles. I’m always striving to further my knowledge and skills so I can provide the best care for my patients.

Outside of dentistry, I like traveling, exploring nature, and spending time with my husband and two cats.
